Pediatric Care for the Next Century

In the Inaugural HOPE & HEALING Society Insiders Call, Dr. J. Michael Wattenbarger, Chief of Staff and Erin Howell, Physician Assistant from Shriners Children’s™ — Greenville outlined their focus on treating children with Scoliosis ─ a curvature of the spine.

Shriners Children’s cares for more than 10,000 children affected by scoliosis each year. Scoliosis presents children and families with both physical and emotional challenges. Your support provides them with a place to go for answers, advanced treatments and the wrap-around care they need — regardless of the families’ ability to pay.

During the call, Dr. Watty and Erin shared how the Shriners Children’s team creates a special environment to help children face the challenges of scoliosis and enables them to explore less invasive treatments and solutions. And their treatment choices are made possible in part by research that donors help fund.

“Before we just looked at X-Rays, now we have better tools and individualized medicine, something we’re able to do because of the generous support we receive from people like you.”
