This year’s Giving Tuesday was a celebration of the Magical Moments our patients, families, physicians, and staff see every day. Held annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday is a global movement providing an outpouring of generosity for causes around the world. It is a time when our supporters send Love to the rescue®, providing life-changing care for children with orthopedic conditions, severe burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate — regardless of the families’ ability to pay. What a magical day!

As the excitement of Giving Tuesday swept across the world, Shriners Children’s locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico found unique ways to revel in the fun. In Galveston, patients at Shriners Children’s Texas were treated to an incredible show with sleight of hand and comedy magic. They twirled wands and laughed with delight as a magician performed dazzling illusions for the marveled crowd. And at Shriners Children’s Spokane, the spotlight was on patients and staff as they donned top hats and capes to take photos in front of a magical backdrop. Even the hospital therapy dog joined the fun!

Thanks to the overwhelming support of our donors, including a generous match gift provided by Exploria Resorts, Shriners Children’s raised a record-setting $2.5 million dollars through the Magical Moments Giving Tuesday campaign! That means more children across all 50 states as well as 170 countries around the world will feel the transformational magic of Shriners Children’s care.
