Former Patient, Tim Miller, Raises $2,000+ in Peer-to-Peer Fundraising
Story Summary
COVID-19 couldn’t stop Tim Miller from celebrating his 55th birthday with 55 holes of golf on July 4th weekend this year. Not only did he set up a peer-to-peer Classy Fundraising page and raise over $2,000 for Shriners, he got his very first HOLE IN ONE!
After losing his leg in a farming accident at the age of 4, Tim became a patient at Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Tim posted on his fundraising page: “I am afforded the opportunity to walk 55 holes on my 55th Birthday in honor of those that today are challenging themselves to find their way while being supported by Shriners Hospitals for Children. They supported me until my early 20’s and I am now part of the Alumni of this great patient centered Philanthropy!”
Tim was also fortunate enough to play in the Iowa Shriners All Star Football Game in 1984. He recalls being a young child at the Minneapolis clinic and seeing the players from the Nebraska All Star Team, little did he know that 14 years later he would be one himself!
Because of the support and inspiration of people like Tim, Shriners Hospitals for Children is able to help kids be kids every day! We are so incredibly proud of our patients, past and present. Thank you Tim for lending your time, talent and golf swing to fundraising for our hospitals.
